Isosystem realized a roof of about 600 sqm for a wine cellar in the Venice province. The planners required a roof covering with good insulating and cooling properties, especially in summer, possibly in one self bearing structural solution; the building distinctive feature was a metal bearing structure.
	The most suitable system proposed by Isosystem’s technical department was ISOVENT-TOP, a thermoventilated system and self bearing structural panel with insulating and cooling properties. The system was especially designed to meet the insulation and cooling specifications of temperature control engineers. As this was not a wooden structure, we checked the system performance on metal carpentry and its physical conditions following various accidental load stresses. We tested the most suitable fixings, self tapping screws to use on metal and curved spring washers, in proper quantities per square meter according to roof slope and panel cutting force.
ISOVENT-TOP® is a sandwich system for thermoventilated roofs consisting of a shaped insulating panel in sintered expanded polystyrene, standard or with added graphite, placed between a EUROSTRAND OSB panel and a plywood or plasterboard layer. The panel features technical characteristics and energy savings properties in line with Law 10/91 art. 32 D.M. 02/04/98.
